This celebration adores the mystery to which the “Mother Church” of the Archdiocese of Newark, the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, is dedicated.

On June 11, 2026, as part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. bishops consecrated the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
